Hi,

I am so glad you stopped by. I am running for Katy ISD Board of Trustees, Position 4, because I believe every student deserves an excellent education and every family deserves a trustee who is accessible, accountable, and truly listening. Pull up a chair. Let me tell you my story.

My Story

I am a wife, a mom, and your neighbor. I have three children currently enrolled in Katy ISD schools. A 5th grader and twins in 3rd grade. I am not running because someone recruited me or because it was the next logical step in a political career. I am running because I sat in enough parent meetings, attended enough board sessions, and had enough conversations at the bond committee to know that this district needs a different kind of trustee at this moment.

My passion for education was shaped early by someone I deeply admire. Dr. Betty Howell Grey is a respected educator who instilled in me the belief that education is the greatest equalizer. That foundation never left me. It is why I have spent years as a PTA member, a KEYS Mentor, and a member of the Katy ISD Community Bond Advisory Committee. and continue to volunteer. It is why I donate to women’s shelters, mentor youth, and support the community nonprofits and people in need who often go unseen.

I also bring more than 20 years of professional experience in governance, compliance, and risk management. I have served as a Senior Vice President, auditor, and consultant designing accountable systems in one of this country's most regulated industries. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, an MBA, and a certificate in Business Process Design for Strategic Management from MIT. I have presented financial and risk reports directly to boards of directors. I know how to build accountability and transparency inside complex organizations. And I know how to ask the hard questions before problems become crises.

I understand that professional background matters because a school board trustee’s job is governance and oversight, not day-to-day management. The CFO manages the budget. The superintendent manages the district. My job as Board Trustee will be to make sure the processes producing those decisions are sound, the contracts are compliant because of controls, and the risks are being identified and addressed before they cost this district money, reputation, or trust.

Whether your child attends school north or south of I-10, in Harris, Fort Bend, or Waller County, they deserve the same quality education and the same opportunities to succeed. That is not a political position. That is a parenting position. And it is the lens through which I will make every single board decision.

I am not the candidate the insiders picked. I am the candidate who showed up anyway. Because my children are counting on me to. And so are yours. I'm not the easy candidate, but I'm the right candidate!
